Hull University Air Squadron
The Crest was recreated by artist Mary Denton for the RAF Heraldry Trust with the following legend:-
Blazon: A Torch Or enflamed enfiled by a circlet of Roses Argent seeded and barbed proper
Link: The torch is indicative of learning both at the unit and the University whilst the roses indicate the location.
Date of Issue August 1954
Motto: Latin: Docti superabimus auras – With instruction we will master the air.
HUll UAS Formed 18 Feb ‘41 and amalgamated with Leeds UAS on 15 March ‘69 to form Yorkshire UAS.
